Andi’s journey began at Cape College, where he studied hospitality with the dream of becoming a chef. As a student, he embraced the path with enthusiasm and soon found himself under the mentorship of the renowned Head Chef Garth Stroebel, who was then leading the kitchen at the prestigious Mount Nelson Hotel. The young apprentice was in awe of this incredible opportunity, and this encounter would leave a lasting imprint on his heart.
Under Chef Garth’s guidance, Andi work with Chefs at Work, a prestigious company led by Garth Stroebel. It was during this time that Andi’s passion for infusions and spice blends truly ignited – a flame that would burn brightly, no matter what twists life had in store for him.
Years passed, and Andi successfully built a thriving construction and maintenance company. Yet, the pull of his culinary passions and dreams faded into the background as his career in construction took centre stage.
Then came Covid – a time that halted the world and gave many the opportunity to pause, reflect and dream. With this newfound time and a need to generate an income, came the realization that Andi needed to re-visit his true passion. And so, Fusion X was born. During this period Andi began creating exquisite spice rubs and blends, along with beautifully infused sugars, blending his love for culinary creativity with his entrepreneurial spirit.
In conclusion, Fusion X is not just a brand, it is the manifestation of Andi’s long-held dreams, an adventure that started in the kitchen and is now ready to take the world by storm through the perfect fusion of flavour and passion and You!
Bernice brings a deep reservoir of business expertise, shaped over decades in the corporate advertising sector, where she built a reputation for excellence and earned four MD Awards along the way. Her career has taken her across the world, offering her a front-row seat to its possibilities and its lessons. She also holds a Sales and Marketing diploma from UNISA, grounding her leadership in both experience and formal discipline.
As a single mother who raised two now-successful young adults, Bernice carries a lived understanding of resilience, responsibility, and the quiet courage required to build a life from the ground up. That same fire fuels her passion for business today. As co-owner of Fusion X Artisanal Spices, she steps boldly into the operational heartbeat of the brand, driving vision, quality, and growth with a steady hand.
She champions women — especially those who carry the full weight of their households — with a rallying cry that echoes through her work: “You can do this.” Her long-term vision includes creating dignified employment for single mothers who deserve the opportunity to thrive as heads of their families.
Now calling a small West Coast village home, Bernice believes in impact that starts local and ripples outward. She doesn’t claim to save the world — only to love her corner of it so deeply, so faithfully, that transformation has no choice but to follow.
